i'm in a crash course of learning, it is not what you know that will get you far.  it is definitely who you know.  such as at communion last week joanne negstad who is the founding president of lutheran social services and now works for lutheran world relief.  she also has many other achievements and i also know her from st james because she is pastor al's wife.  i never fully realized all her accomplishments before...ok back to my point, when i got to chapel that wednesday i was going to go say hi and all that jazz but right as i was about to go talk to her my discourse teacher went up to her and shook her hand and all.  in discourse- which was my next class, i asked joan (the prof) how she liked chapel, and she replied, "oh i know joanne..."  sounding all high and mighty.  then i responded, "me too" she was pretty taken back that i had a connection like joanne.  (that story was kind of pointless)

my big dilemma in the who you know catergory is i really want to work at a bible camp this summer.  there is luther park which i was going to apply to regardless because i used to go there when i was younger, but now i have a connection which flat out told me she can garantee me the job.  do i run with her offer? or do i spread my own wings and pray i get a job at a different camp?  if i go for that job i will have to make my way as a counsler on my own anyways, it just feels wrong that i'm garanteed the job when there could be someone else with higher qualifications.....all advise is greatly appreciated....

today started out kind of crappy- if you haven't already seen my myspace...but tonight was the best night ever!!!  i LOVE my friends, and i LOVE who i get to be when i am around them!  tab tonight definitely made my life, just being together singing awesome songs!!!  it turned my bad mood into something great.  even on the way back to our dorms we were screaming across the courtyard of snow and having a snowball fight while singing 'walking in a winter wonderland.'  it was awesome!!!  and word of reference for anyone- erik gives the squishiest hugs!  they're great for bad days!!
